ICT Cyber Wellness
Q: What is cyber wellness?
A: Cyber wellness refers to the positive well-being of Internet users. It involves an understanding of online behaviour and awareness of how to protect oneself in cyber space.
In 2016, Poi Ching School started the programme for Cyber Wellness. We embarked on this journey with the training of our pioneer batch of ambassadors from our P4 and P5 cohort.
They underwent a 4-week training and learnt more about cyber wellness.
They will be the ones to lead the way forward for a fun and challenging journey for the rest of our pupils.
Cyberwellness Assembly Talks (2016)
Pupils in Poi Ching School had their awareness of cyber wellness matters raised through assembly talks.
For Primary 1 and 2, we introduced the concept of how to protect oneself through the topic of “Online Strangers”. The pupils were taught not to give out personal information online and not to meet up with strangers whom they befriend through the internet.
For Primay 3 to 6, we brought in the concept of “Gaming Addiction”. The pupils were given guidelines on how to control their addiction to their electric gadgets and how to manage if they are addicted.
